Save the ticket, boarding point and route details on your phone before leaving. Keep valuables in a zipped inner compartment or on your person rather than in an unattended outer pocket. If you are checking in a bag, remove this kit before handing the bag over.

Start with the number of days, planned activities and expected weather. Choose clothing that can be mixed and repeated, then add enough undergarments and socks for the trip. For an overnight journey, include comfortable sleepwear or a fresh set for arrival.

Use the NueGo website or app to confirm your departure time, boarding point, stop list and route map. Then consider the time of arrival, onward transfer and what you may need before you can open the main bag.

For monsoon routes, protect electronics and documents in a waterproof pouch, carry a compact umbrella and choose quick-dry clothing with practical footwear. For hill routes or cooler arrivals, add one warm layer; for hot destinations, choose breathable clothing. Check the forecast for both your departure city and destination before closing the bag.

Choose sealed, easy-to-carry snacks that are unlikely to spill or create a strong smell. Carry a sealed water bottle, keep food away from electronics and use a small waste bag so your space remains tidy.
